The International Cuban Medical Health Care

The consistent practice of internationalism and solidarity with other peoples of the world is a prime principle of Cuban foreign policy.
The implementation of the Scholarships Program for Foreign Students has been a genuine expression of this purpose since the first years of the Cuban Revolution. Through this program, thousands of technicians and professionals from other Third World nations have been graduated in our country..
More recently, the Latin American School of Medical Sciences was created under following the same principles. In a short time, the School has become an example of what the cooperation in such a sensitive and decisive field as health should be. Through the years, by sending specialized personnel to other lands - particularly Family Doctors- Cuba has contributed, modestly and unselfishly, to save and preserve many human lives.Up to the present, nearly 3000 health professionals have rendered services and assisted 5 million patients in African, Latin American and Asian countries under the Comprehensive Healthcare Delivery Program (CHDP)
The cooperation offered by the Cuban Government is based on the free of charge delivery of health specialists and technicians, particularly Family Doctors, for a two-year term at most.
